FAQs.
Answers to the questions supporters ask most often.
How is my donation processed?
Online gifts are taken by Stripe on a secure payment page, with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. AMAR never sees or stores your card details.
Can I give to a specific appeal?
Yes. Give from the appeal's own page and the gift is recorded against that appeal. A gift from the home page or the Support us page goes where the need is greatest.
What does a monthly gift mean?
A regular payment taken each month until you stop it. Cancel any time from your Stripe receipt email or by contacting the London office.
Can I add Gift Aid?
If you are a UK taxpayer, yes. Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 at no cost to you. Tell the office and AMAR will send a declaration.
Where does the money go?
AMAR is run by a small team in London and hires local staff in the countries where it works. Funds go to clinics, health posts, mobile units, classrooms, training and music programmes delivered by local professionals.
Is AMAR regulated?
AMAR International Charitable Foundation is registered charity 1047432 and company 03066579 in England and Wales, and is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
Can I get a refund?
Under UK charity law donations are not normally refundable, but genuine mistakes are looked at case by case. See the refund policy and contact the office promptly.
How can my company or foundation partner with AMAR?
Use the form on the Support us page. The office comes back with a proposal: what the programme delivers, what it costs and how it is reported.
